SHE CAME IN THROUGH THE BATHROOM WINDOW

She came in through the bathroom window
Protected by a silver spoon
But now she sucks her thumb and wanders
By the banks of her own lagoon

Didn’t anybody tell her?
Didn’t anybody see?
Sunday’s on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday’s on the phone to me

She said she’d always been a dancer
She worked at 15 clubs a day
And though she thought I knew the answer
Well I knew but I could not say.

And so I quit the police department
And got myself a steady job
And though she tried her best to help me
She could steal but she could not rob.

Didn’t anybody tell her?
Didn’t anybody see?
Sunday’s on the phone to Monday,
Tuesday’s on the phone to me
Oh yeah.

  1. A picture with an incredible perspective!

  2. I lovvvvve it! I also love the Beatles, which makes this picture so much more appealing ๐Ÿ˜€ Great job, 2 thumbs up!

  3. But how do you know it’s the bathroom??? (She came in through the parlour window…?)

  4. Well, that’s poetic license I suppose…I mean, don’t it just sound so right knowing she came in through the bathroom window? How crazy ya gotta be to squeeze in through the bathroom window rather than the parlor window? [laughs] holding a silver spoon for protection and working in 15 clubs a day? Ya gotta be a bit daft don’t ya? So…I imagine she lives here…peeking through her windows…

    Thanks for the smile…

  5. I have a thing for dilapidating buildings. They hold so many stories. I personally just love to stand in the spaces they are and to try to imagine those stories by looking at what is left behind. So, several of your photos are extremely evocative to me for this reason. I can look at them for ages, seeking out the details of others’ lives lived and create tales of the goings-on in my mind. Thanks for posting and inspiring.

  6. If you haven’t seen it already, you should check out Brian Vanden Brick’s book RUIN.

PS: I know it sounds terrible putting it this way, but that is one craptastic photo!

  7. Sorry that’s Vanden Brink – not Brick (typo) ๐Ÿ˜‰
