BIG ORANGE COUNTRY-TENNESSEE

PICK UP TRUCK

(Partial Lyrics)

Shane Yellowbird

me and my old pickup truck

these days we dont pick up much

but i know in a while we’ll be driving in style

crawling on out of this truck

i’m sure we’ll be rolling again someday soon

somewhere around the bend

i know we’ll have better luck – me and my pickup truck

just a couple of fix ‘er ups in my pickup truck

  1. Oh, so AWESOME! It could audition for Cars III!

  2. Super – I have a thing for old things. They are so atmospheric in their presence, like they contain volumes of short stories. Appropriate text too.

    • Thanks, I too am a fan of the classic or antique. I look for faded ads painted on the sides of buildings, I will stop to photograph derelict farm implements, shacks leaning too hard in a direction that can only lead to their downfall in a heavy blow. If it’s old, it’s fair game. 🙂

  3. Love this photo! Rust or not, that car looks happy.

    • You know, I think you’re right. I have passed this car for a year, always thinking I would stop and photograph it. The day I finally did, there was a car fanatic measuring it writing down numbers mumbling to himself and thinking aloud. We got to talking and I just loved this guy! He told me things about this old truck that I found I WANTED to know! It was stuff that if I was in a hurry, or if my mind was elsewhere I’d have said to myself “Who gives a darn? Shut up and let me get this done so I can get out of here.” I’m so glad I’m not the busy crazed person I once was. It’s nice to learn unimportant stuff that is really down right interesting. Anyway back to statement “I think this car looks happy” It does, and I couldn’t agree more!

  4. Big blinking eyes stay alert, while the rest sleeps. Nice!
